The COVID-19 pandemic created tough financial challenges for working families all across California.

The Golden State Stimulus provides $600 rapid cash support to nearly four million low-income Californians.

 

Taxpayers that file with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) may receive $1,200 of direct cash relief.

Do I Qualify for the Stimulus?


You can qualify for the stimulus if you are a California resident and either of the following apply:

 ​

  • Claim the CalEITC on your 2020 California tax return; or

  • File your 2020 tax return with an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) and made $75,000 or less (total CA Annual Gross Income)

How Do I Get My Stimulus?

 

Eligibility is based on your 2020 tax return. You simply need to file your taxes to receive the stimulus payment.

When Will I Get My Check?

 

The California Franchise Tax Board will issue payments on a monthly basis once your return is processed. Payments will be issued separately from your individual state tax refund via direct deposit or check.

Allow 45 days beyond mailing timeframes to allow for processing. Click

If it’s been over 45 days, contact the State of California Franchise Tax Board.

 

You already filed your 2020 taxes and claimed the CalEITC on your State of California tax return.

You don't need to do anything. You will receive your payment by direct deposit or paper check.
